How I Get Paid To Listen To Music

Four months ago, I started a Spotify playlist for my artist project. If you’ve followed me for a while, you know I’m a big advocate for artists managing their own playlists and running ads to them—it’s a game-changer. Done right, it boosts streams, monthly listeners, and can even generate income.

I’ve built and run playlists for labels, artists, and myself, and the results speak for themselves. My goal? Grow my listeners, increase streams, and get approved as a curator on Playlist Push—a platform that pays curators to review and add songs. To qualify, I needed 1,000+ followers, so I built my playlist strategically: mixing my tracks with big names for recognition and rising artists who might share it.

I created a high-energy visualizer, ran targeted ads on Instagram, and updated the playlist every 1-2 weeks. Now, with nearly 3,000 followers, I got approved—and I’m getting paid to listen to music. It’s not huge money at first, but it’s a fun, scalable process.

If you want more streams, listeners, or even a side income, start your own playlist!
